Aluminum Ceiling Panel
Aluminum ceiling panel is a three-layer composite sheet with plastic as the core layer and aluminum sheets bonded externally. Decorative or protective coatings can be applied on its surface.
With over a decade of material development and continuous technological upgrades, ceiling materials have evolved through generations. The first-generation products were gypsum boards and mineral wool boards; the second generation was PVC panels; the third generation refers to metal ceilings. Among metal ceiling products, aluminum ceiling panels have grown rapidly and gained great popularity. Currently, aluminum ceiling panels on the market fall into the following grades:
- Aluminum-magnesium alloy, containing a certain amount of manganese. It features excellent oxidation resistance. The added manganese improves strength and rigidity, making it an ideal material for ceilings.
- Aluminum-manganese alloy. Its strength and rigidity are slightly better than aluminum-magnesium alloy, while oxidation resistance is slightly weaker.
- Ordinary aluminum alloy. With low manganese and magnesium content, its strength and rigidity are obviously inferior to aluminum-magnesium and aluminum-manganese alloys, with average oxidation resistance.
The key criterion for selecting aluminum ceiling panels lies in material quality rather than thickness. 0.6mm thickness is sufficient for household use. Unlike plastic-steel panels, aluminum ceiling panels have no span issue. Priority should be given to the elasticity and toughness of the panel, followed by surface treatment.
Installation Instructions
- Mount aluminum trim angles at the same horizontal level.
- Install hangers and light-gauge steel keels at proper intervals. The spacing between hangers shall be ≤1.2m, and light-gauge steel keels shall be spaced at 1.2m.
- Connect hangers pre-assembled on triangular keels together with triangular keels perpendicularly to light-gauge steel keels according to panel spacing, then adjust the level.
- Press two edges of square panels parallel into the gaps of triangular keels. Install the two end edges of the rear transverse direction to set the right angle, then snap panels row by row along the reference line. Adjust after finishing each row to guarantee flat panel surface and vertical seams. (Note: the edge with small dimples on square panels should be inserted into triangular keel gaps.)
- Wear gloves during panel installation. If stains are left on panels accidentally, clean them with clean water. Do not peel off the protective film during installation.
Features
- Excellent coating performance. High-quality aluminum composite panels adopt premium coatings applied by imported fully automatic high-speed coating lines. The panel surface is flat without color difference. The coating boasts strong adhesion and resists erosion from acid, alkali and salt spray. It maintains color stability for a long time without coating peeling. Fluorocarbon coated panels are perfect decorative materials for outdoor applications, with a service life of over 20 years and easy maintenance; simply rinse with water to restore freshness.
- Superior bonding strength. Premium aluminum composite panels are manufactured by hot-press lamination of high-polymer plastic and macromolecular materials. No delamination occurs after a 2-hour boiling water test.
- Wide temperature adaptability. Aluminum composite panels can work under wide temperature fluctuations without performance degradation.
- Light weight and high strength. Each panel weighs approximately 8.5 kg on average. It is much lighter than other materials under the same rigidity condition.
- Sound insulation, heat insulation and shock resistance. Combining dual properties of metal and plastic, its vibration damping coefficient is six times that of solid aluminum sheets. It offers better airborne sound insulation and low thermal conductivity, serving as an ideal building material for sound insulation, thermal insulation and shock absorption.
- Non-toxic and fire-safe. The core layer of aluminum composite panel is non-toxic polyethylene, and the outer layer is non-combustible aluminum sheet. Its surface combustion performance meets fire resistance requirements of building codes.
- Rich color options. A wide range of colors are available for matching combinations to create elegant and harmonious effects.
- Good processability. Aluminum composite panels can be cut, sawed, milled, punched, pressed, folded and bent with common wood and metal processing tools to precisely realize customized design shapes.
- Aluminum ceiling panels feature flat surfaces and sharp edges. The ceiling system presents a neat, elegant, luxurious and spacious visual effect. Aluminum ceiling panels are flame-retardant, anti-corrosive and moisture-proof, with convenient installation and disassembly. Each panel can be detached individually for easy construction and maintenance. When replacement or cleaning is needed, panels can be quickly removed using a magnetic suction cup or special panel remover. A layer of sound-absorbing paper or black flame-retardant cotton can be attached to the back of perforated panels to meet specified sound absorption standard
